6 Pieces of FC-33-124 ferrite core for Wideband Antenna matching unit

When you don't have room for multiple resonant antennas, a wideband design is an option.  These typically consist of a radiating element (of course!) and a termination.  The termination, although converting some precious RF to heat, serves to provide a 'reasonable' match to the radio across a wide range of frequencies (as the radiating element is not resonant).  For several reasons, such an antenna design will not provide optimal operation, but many people find the convenience is worth the tradeoff.  

Some broadband designs utilise a resistive termination to achieve an acceptable match and other's utilise a "lossy" matching system.  These ferrites are the ones specified by Martin G8JNJ in his article on constructing a wideband matching unit similar to the design that appeared in Japan CQ magazine and more recently utilised by Comet antennas:
